Everything about Commercial Road totally explained

Commercial Road (part of the A13), 2 miles (3.25km) in length, is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the East End of London. It runs from "Gardener's Corner" (on which stands Aldgate East tube station), through Stepney to the junction with Burdett Road (A1205), Limehouse from which point the route becomes the East India Dock Road. The straightness of the route suggests a Roman road, although it was built by the East India Company in the early nineteenth century as part of the development of London Docklands.
